Chapter 10 — Tangents and Angles of a Circle

Students Learning Outcomes (SLOs) covered:
- A line perpendicular to a radius at its outer endpoint is tangent to the circle.
- The tangent and the radius joining the point of contact and the center are perpendicular.
- The two tangents drawn to a circle from an external point are equal in length.
- If two circles touch externally (internally), the distance between centers equals the sum (difference) of their radii.
- The central angle of an arc is double the inscribed angle subtended by the same arc.
- Any two angles in the same segment of a circle are equal.
- The angle in a semicircle is a right angle; angles in segments greater/less than a semicircle are acute/obtuse.
- The opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral are supplementary.
- Apply concepts of tangents and angles to real-life problems (architecture, monuments, engineering).
